Saturday, June 27, 2009

The Dixie Bikefest Summer Rally kept on rocking, through Saturday, June 27, 2009 to a great crowd.   All through the day, more and more guests continued to arrive.

It was a scorching hot day with the heat index over 100, but that didn't stop the crowd from enjoying themselves.

Mike Cook's Fabulous Do-nut Machine 1
Why are Mike's "do-nuts" so impressive?
He has no front brake, in fact, he has no brakes at all

Creative visitors sought ways to beat the heat on a sweltering Saturday afternoon

While the "Bradley Junction Band" provided the afternoon's entertainment.

Lawnmower vendor's were in abundance

Eddie of the "Eddie James Gang Band" tries out the poles.
Sorry Eddie, but Marcie looks better.

Lit's Bar-b-cue was on hand with their great barbeque.

The Slo-Ride race. The last one to cross the finish line, Wins.

(L) Ricky Powers and his cousin enjoy the motorcycle events.

(R) A nice looking old model A sedan.

The always popular "Keg Rolling".

"Balls & Cones" didn't fare as well. There was little participation
Only 3 competitors entered the "Balloon Toss" but it soon became a showdown.
(L) Marcie makes an unbelievable catch between her wrists.
(R) The first casualty as this girl misses the catch and almost leaves the bike.

Marcie & Scott go head to head against Mike Cook and ? (I never caught her name).
The bar kept going higher and higher.
Mike and his lady finally won when Marcie missed a catch.

The same two teams square off again for the "Weenie Bite"
Look at that style and form as those girls chomp that weenie!

They even miss with elegance.

As the day fades into dusk, and evening falls, the crowd gathers together to . . .
PARTY!!!

It was a hot time for Dixie Bikefest, on a sweltering June afternoon.
