SCV Camp 1399

6th Annual Salute to American Veterans
19 September, 2009

The SCV meets the Moose 1688 Riders

On Saturday, September 19, 2009 the 6th Annual "Salute to American Veterans" was held at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Dublin, Georgia.

SCV Camp #1399 and the 4th Brigade host this event every year, on the third Saturday in September as a salute to our ailing and disabled American Veterans.

Once again, the Moose Lodge 1688 Riders pitched in wherever they could in an attempt to make the event more enjoyable.

Members of 3rd Battalion, Company B, Troop 3 were present
Left to Right are Ray Shannon, Jr. Shannon, Wayne Johnson and Bud Cranford.

Ready to leave the Moose Lodge.
Fifteen bikes were ready to make the Ride to Dublin, to honor our American Veterans.

When we got to the "Cracker Barrel" in Dublin, we found members of "Bikers For Christ" and "Four Horsemen of the Apacolypse" as well as the "4th Georgia Cavalry" ready to ride.

Sgt. Champion was once again our escort.

Muley (Russ Huffman) makes a last minute entrance.

 The Bikes

Since I missed getting pictures of the Wheelchair races, here are some of the Winners, while they judge the Bike Show

Kenny Day won the "Cleanest Bike" Award
Tommy Brown won the "Best Looking Bike" Award
Bud Cranford won the "Dirtiest Bike" Award.

When asked about the award my only comment was,
"That Bike's for Riding, not for Rubbing".

The Party's Over
Visitors and guests leave the building

Once again, the event was a great success and the residents could not thank us heartily enough.

The food and music were excellent and the Bike show and Wheelchair Drag races provided the residents with some much needed entertainment.

The event will be held again next year, on September 18, 2010.
